Hivemind Creative Co-Op was founded in February 2025 after founder N. Celeste Snyder had spent 15 years in the creative industry, witnessing first hand the extreme difficulty artists had making ends meet and having lost many colleagues from the industry who could no longer sustain their creative practice due to cost of living and lack of securities.

The AI revolution suddenly made the industry even more difficult and predatory to the human beings in the arts industry. The companies in control seemed only to be interested in shrinking costs, cutting more and more into the art fields, now positioning themselves to replace the human element entirely. Rather than wait to be swallowed up by a shrinking field, Celeste decided to fall back on what truly has carried humans from the caves to the modern world: community. Humanity’s drive to form community created progress on a “better together” model. If no one was coming to advocate for artists, together we could advocate for ourselves. Further, if no one wanted to platform and support artists, there was nothing stopping us from creating space and opportunities for ourselves.

The main goal of Hivemind is to keep artists paid, funded and supported so they can continue to do one of the most worthwhile things a person can do: create. We want to have a safety net for those who go through many of life’s challenges: health issues, home insecurity, lack of savings, etc. so artists aren’t pushed out of the arts due to circumstance. 

We also want to showcase artists’ work, through anthologies, gallery shows, art books and more. We want to provide support for individual projects and publications. We want our artists’ work to be seen and experienced. We believe organizing, promoting and producing these opportunities will help launch our creatives to a larger audience and future clients.

Hivemind Creative Co-Op operates with a Board of Directors. We currently have two board members in the Executive Director and Director positions and we are working toward filling the remaining three positions from Co-Op Members. We are accepting letters of intent for 2026 from Co-Op members in good standing.
